'Suspicious Packages' That Paralyzed Boston Part of Cartoon Network Marketing Campaign
    Wednesday, January 31, 2007

    BOSTON —
A suspicious package alert that shut down downtown Boston Wednesday afternoon was actually part of an elaborate marketing campaign by the Cartoon Network to spark interest in its "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" show.

After state and local officials said they were launching an investigation into a series of "suspicious packages" found around the city, the Cartoon Network released a statement saying the packages were magnetic lights that pose no danger.

"They are part of an outdoor marketing campaign in 10 cities in support of Adult Swim's animated television show Aqua Teen Hunger Force," the statement said.

Eye on '08: Biden Comes Out Swinging Against His Democratic Opponents Wednesday, January 31, 2007

WASHINGTON —The following is a new feature from FOXNews.com's political unit offering readers updates and the lowdown on newsmakers looking at their 2008 presidential prospects.

Delaware Sen. Joe Biden has officially launched his campaign, and he's come out of the gate swinging -- not at President Bush and the Republicans, but at his fellow Democrats who are seeking their party's nomination.

In a story published in The New York Observer, Biden says New York Sen. Hillary Clinton's position on Iraq "baffles" him.

“From the part of Hillary’s proposal, the part that really baffles me is, ‘We’re going to teach the Iraqis a lesson.’" Biden tells the Observer. "We’re not going to equip them? OK. Cap our troops and withdraw support from the Iraqis? That’s a real good idea.”

Biden says Clinton's policy on Iraq would result in “nothing but disaster,” and he goes on to question the former first lady's electability...

Hollywood dives head first into the anti-war pool yet again...

Over the last few days the Hollywood elite have yet again dove head first into the anti-war pool. Tim Robbins, Sean Pean, Jane Fonda and others this past week again began (actually continued) bashing the United States for the war on Terrorism, specifically, Iraq.

When I was born in mid-September 1968, the Vietnam War was in full swing, and Jane Fonda was visiting Hanoi; terrorizing troops who had been captured and put through terrors that most of us can't fully understand, or come close to realizing in our worst nightmares. I was too young then to comment on what she did. My generation reaped the benefits of Fonda and her left-wing liberal political partners and the results have been crippling. This was a generation which made its 'bones' on to many drugs, alcohol, free sex, and every other thing which promoted self-indulgence. This was a generation which tore this country apart based on the idea of ending a war which they felt was criminal. They sought to bash Christianity at every turn seeking instead their own sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll mind set. They spit on soldiers coming home, forgot about soldiers who had been captured, they embraced the enemy of the day and started a war here at home; which tore apart the values of their own society, only to remake those values into a system which would eventually debase the very society they were trying to save. I have seen the news stories from Vietnam and the anti-war protests from then and now. I have listened to the arguments against war and watched as people like Cindy Sheehan and Jane Fonda, as well as, many others attempt to debase this present society. It is a continuation of what was started in the 1960's during Vietnam and I really believe that this is the only connection Iraq has to Vietnam today.

I am a combat-veteran, and one who left service (honorably) with a disability. (For full disclosure, it is a minor one compared too many coming home today.) I don't like war at all. In fact, if you ask any one in the military today I think they will tell you that war is not why they joined the military. Yet these are people who sacrificed a great deal to ensure that this society would be preserved and continue onward, hopefully to forge a greater future for the generations to come. Throughout history the ones who scream and protest the most about war are the ones who have done the most harm to society. Not because they are protesting a war. That protest is a right that every active and veteran soldier has fought to protect. No it isn't the protest; it is the innate ability of these anti-war people to seek only the selfish and self serving which is wrong. Think about the following: If the war protesters of the Vietnam War were so righteous how is it that they all sold out to make millions after they had done their damage after the war ended. They were so against the government and corporations, yet that is exactly who they went to work for after the protests ended. They made millions on the backs of the very people who they claimed to be speaking for during all of their protests.

I could continue writing volumes on this issue but the people who need to read it aren't capable of understanding the message. If you hate the war, and you should hate the war --any war, then seek to make a difference in society. Don't get on TV with your millions of dollars and bash young men and women in the military, politicians who are striving to do their best under the worst of conditions, and don't seek for your own self-serving ends. Freedom isn't free and if the last century didn't teach us that then we are in more trouble then I thought when I began this post!

Commit Armed Robbery and go free...

No jail time for armed robbers

    By: Reed Upton

And we wonder why criminals keep offending...this article is complete craziness! Click on the link to view the video from KOBTV.com

Three men charged with a string of armed robberies in the Santa Fe area were sentenced on Monday but none of them will get anytime behind bars – at least not right away.

The stickups targeted pedestrians in Santa Fe last February and March. In each case, the robbers demanded cash, credit cards and cell phones.

Mario Becker and James Doty were each given a 27-year prison sentence and Ricardo Davila was sentenced to nine years, but District Judge Tim Garcia suspended the sentences.

Garcia told one of the men that he was giving him a chance to turn around his life.

If any of the three violates the terms of his probation or gets into any new trouble, Garcia can impose the full sentence and send the offender to prison.
